Cold Exposed Inland Sites

These areas will have very low temperatures and the harshest of winds. They can often be very open areas which reveals them to the worst of all weathers. You will find the hardiest of plants in these sites.

Trees: Acer (Campestre, Drummondii, Royal Red), Betula, Carpinus, Corylus, Crataegus, Fagus, Laburnum, Populus, Quercus, Salix, Sorbus, Tilia.

Shrubs: Aucuba, Berberis, Buddleia, Chaenomeles, Corylus, Cornus, Cotoneaster, Deutzia, Eleagnus, Forsythia, Euonymus, Ilex, Kerria, Pachysandra, Philadelphus, Potentilla, Rhododendron, Salix, Symphoricarpus, Viburnum.

Conifers: Cupressus (Leylandii, Castlewellan, Gold Rider), Ginko, Juniperus, Larix, Picea, Pinus, Thuja.
