Poorly Drained Soil

Poorly drained soil is ground that for long periods of time the water content it very high. Where there are many plants that do not like sitting with their feet too wet! There are some that will cope with it fine.

Examples of plants for very wet soils

Trees: Acer (pseudoplatanus), Alnus, Carpinus, Populus, Salix, Pyrus, Quercus Rober.

Shrubs: Cornus (dog wood cornus), Salix, Sambucus.

Conifers: Metasequoia, Taxodium.

Bamboo: Phyllostachys
